Italian cinema brings its captivating stories to San Sebastián with the debut edition of Zinecittà in the city. 🎬🇮🇹

Founded in Bilbao in 2016, the Italian film festival arrives for the first time in Donostia, featuring Tabakalera as its main venue alongside the Basque Maritime Museum.

📖 A journey through the eras of Italian cinema

The festival opens on 27 November with Vittorio De Sica's classic La ciociara (1960), in collaboration with the Basque Film Archive. On 28 November, the morning screening of Il ritorno di Maciste (2023) by Maurizio Sciarra takes place at the Basque Maritime Museum, followed by Margherita Vicario's Gloria! (2024) at Tabakalera in the evening.

The event wraps up on Sunday 29 November with the national premiere of Franco Battiato: Il lungo viaggio (2026) by Renato De Maria.

Tabakalera hosts the main programme of this first edition in San Sebastián, partnering with the Basque Maritime Museum to explore memory, music, and identity through Italian film.
