📖 About the exhibition
Born in Pamplona in 1943, Xabier Morrás has developed one of the most singular and committed careers in contemporary art. Through both rural and urban landscapes, his work claims the need to preserve what is bound to disappear, exposing violence, uprooting, and identity loss.
The artist builds his visual discourse by combining photography, collage, silkscreen printing, and diverse materials. Among the central highlights of the show is the reproduction of two key historical installations: Cristo amordazado (1972) and Iolas-Velasco (1973).
🎨 The artist and curation
Curated by Jesus Mari Lazkano, this exhibition at Kutxa Fundazioa Kubo offers an in-depth view into Morrás's innovative language and critical perspective across the decades.
