📖 Movement, belonging, and collective memory

In WE, nosotros y los tiempos, contemporary dance intertwines with spoken word and sound to address essential questions: what do we pass down to new generations? How does community define us as individuals? The piece delves into journeys, migration, and the loss of place as a reference point.

Inspired by John Berger’s poem Separation alongside texts evoking Jane Hirshfield, Nick Cave, and Michael Ondaatje, the choreography focuses on the basic principle of motion: walking. Bodies of varying ages and life experiences converse through dance, accompanied by Fanny Thollot's sound composition featuring strings and vocal contributions.
