📖 Three short tales between tradition and contemporary style
The performance weaves together three short pieces exploring the evolution of the glove puppet. In Histoire du Sac, three figures revive the myth of the big bad wolf in a traditional booth; in Petit Sisyphe, a moon-like character confronts the bare hand that gives it form; and in Edipo, the puppet draws its handler right out of hiding.
Featuring the humor, chases, and slapstick of classical puppetry alongside more poignant themes, the stage action converses with live jazz by Jean-Luc Ponthieux, leaving generous room for spontaneous musical improvisation.
🎭 Compagnie L’Alinéa and Brice Coupey
The puppets glide over flexible cords designed with neutral lines to maximize movement. Through this ongoing encounter between puppet and bare hand, the bond between puppeteer and character takes center stage.
✨ A singular celebration of glove puppetry and live jazz improvisation at Juanba Berasategi Aretoa.
