📖 Magic, storytelling, and an ancient Chinese legend

The performance takes the audience back to Ancient China at the end of the 2nd century BC. Following the passing of his beloved Wang, Emperor Wu-Ti falls into deep sorrow. Days and nights go by in unending tears, and nothing or no one can bring him comfort.

Legend has it that shadow theatre was born precisely to ease the ruler's grief and restore his lost joy. This staging by Patata Tropikala combines storytelling with shadow puppets, magic tricks, juggling, and physical theatre.
