📖 Reflection and spatial transformation
The project's title is inspired by a quote from theorist Marina Vishmidt and invites reflection on the power held by a small opening when introduced into a seemingly stable structure. Through subtle interventions in the exhibition room, the works create ruptures that physically and symbolically alter everyday habits and relationships.
Occupying the interval between what has already been done and what has yet to happen, the exhibition examines the invisible conditions underpinning our reality, aiming to test new ways of doing and build a provisional infrastructure for critical viewing.
🎨 Artist and curatorship
Javier R. Pérez-Curiel, Chavezito (Oviedo, 1978), based in Bilbao, develops a transversal practice combining sculpture, sound, and performance. Many of the included works are closely connected to his previous residencies and projects at Tabakalera.
Curated by Irene Landa, the exhibition stems from the 2026 Tabakalera curatorial residency, an initiative created to support the local art scene and feature emerging talent in the centre's annual programme.
ℹ️ Good to know: Closed on Mondays.
✨ A unique chance to explore how a minor incision can reshape how we inhabit space.
