📖 Afro-Caribbean heritage and musical exploration
Marina y su Melao is a Barcelona-based band fronted by Puerto Rican artist Marina Molina. After building a solid live presence, the group released its debut album, Rezo al agua, blending traditional Puerto Rican bomba with rich Afro-Caribbean colors and grooves.
Centred on drum patterns and vocal power, their music connects with Molina's cultural roots and homeland heritage. Puerto Rican bomba, a historically significant art form created as an expression of resilience and hope through percussion, takes center stage through a contemporary and innovative soundscape.
