Elena Caballero, performing as La Basu, was born and raised in Bilbao. In 1999, she formed Jungla Urbana, an all-female rap collective, and has established herself as a leading figure in Basque-language rap and the Basque hip-hop scene, fusing rap, reggae, soul, and other sounds.
